Removing and installing airbag coil connector and return ring with slip ring -F138-
  Caution
The removal and installation of individual components of the steering column switch must be performed in a specified sequence → Chapter.
Removing:
  Note
Coil connector should not be moved out of central position during removal and road wheels should be in „straight-ahead“ position.
   
–  Lift up locking tabs -arrows- on coil connector -1- slightly and pull coil connector backwards off steering column and steering column switch.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing observe the following:
  Caution
The turn signal switch reset lever can break when coil connector is being installed.
The turn signal lever must be in the 0 position when the coil connector is being installed so that the reset lever is not extended.
  Note
During installation of coil connector, coil connector must be in central position and road wheels must be in „straight-ahead“ position.
The central position (depending on manufacturer) of the coil connector is shown in the following diagram:

t  The coloured strip (black rectangles) -arrow- must be located in sight window -1-.

t  The coloured strip (yellow) -arrow- must be in sight window -1-.
  Note
If a new steering angle sensor -G85- in installed, this procedure must be followed by a „basic setting“ → Chapter.
