Removing and installing washer fluid reservoir (vehicles with an auxiliary heater)
Removing and installing washer fluid reservoir (vehicles with an auxiliary heater)
  Note
Depending on the equipment level, the positions of the individual components could be slightly different to those shown in the illustrations. Removal procedure is analogue.
Removing:
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
–  Remove filler neck for washer fluid reservoir → Chapter.
–  Remove front bumper cover → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.63.
–  Place lock carrier in service position → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50.
–  Remove air intake noise damper -11- for auxiliary heater → Auxiliary heater; Rep. gr.82.
–  Unclip retainer for air intake noise damper.
   
–  To release, turn securing clips at hose connections -5- and -7- and pull these off windscreen and rear window washer pump -V59--6-.
–  Drain any escaping fluid in a suitable container.
–  Pull windscreen and rear window washer pump -V59--6- upwards out of reservoir and disconnect connector -8-.
–  Disconnect connector -4- for windscreen washer fluid level sender -G33--9-.
–  Pull headlight washer pump -V11--3- upwards out of reservoir and disconnect connector -10-.

–  Unclip hose -arrow- from guide on reservoir.

–  Remove securing bolts -arrows- and pull reservoir forwards out of retainer.
Installing:
Install in the reverse order of removal. When doing this, note the following:

–  Push reservoir for windscreen and headlight washer system into its retainer from the front.
  Note
When assembling, ensure the three guides of the reservoir are correctly seated in the cut-outs -arrows- of the retainer.

–  Secure reservoir with bolts -arrows-.
–  Install air intake noise damper for auxiliary heater again.
–  Tighten all threaded connections to specified torques → Chapter.
–  On completion of installation work, bleed headlight washer system → Chapter.
