Removing and installing main fuse holder
Removing and installing main fuse holder
The main fuse holder can be found in the luggage compartment on the rear right beneath the moulded element for vehicle tools and jack.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
  WARNING
t  Observe safety measures when working on the battery isolator → Chapter.
t  Observe notes for disposal of battery isolation units → Chapter.
Removing:
–  Remove igniter for battery isolator -N253- → Chapter.
  W00-0427
–  Remove securing nuts -1-, -2- and -3- and take off wiring from connector threads.
–  Pull connector -4- out of retainer in main fuse box.

–  Pull locking tab -2- outwards in direction of arrow and disconnect connector -1-.
  N97-10505
–  Unscrew both securing nuts -arrows- and take the main fuse holder -1- out of the vehicle.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing observe the following:
–  Tighten all threaded connections to specified torque → Chapter.
