Removing gas strut
   
Removing gas strut
–  Open and support bonnet.
Removal of upper attachment
–  Insert a small screwdriver -4- in the opening of the mounting -2-.
–  Using a levering motion in -direction of arrow a-, force the clip -3- out -arrow b-.
–  Take clip -3- out of mounting -2- completely.
–  Pull gas strut -1- out of mounting -arrow c-.
Removal of bottom attachment
–  Insert a small screwdriver beneath spring clip -5-.
–  Raise spring clip -5- until it can be moved over ball socket in direction of -arrow-.
–  Pull gas strut -1- off ball-head pin.
After removing gas strut -1-, slide spring clip -5- back immediately.
  WARNING
Proceed with care if gas strut is reused. Spring clip must not be levered completely out of ball socket, as it will otherwise be damaged. Gas strut will spring out of mounting, causing damage or injury to operator.
