| l | If all securing screw holes are pre-drilled. |
| – | Screw in self-tapping screws -2- with cordless drill/driver -VAS 5036-, using the highest speed, until the screw bites. |
| – | It is essential that the cordless drill/driver is now removed. |
| – | Tighten screws with least possible torque so that screw is not over tightened. |
| – | Position openings on back of side member extension -1- evenly -arrows a- over all securing bolts -2- until sill panel trim comes into contact with side members -3-. |
| Use a second mechanic to ensure that all securing bolts remain in openings when positioning side member extension. |
| – | Slide sill panel trim with force against direction of travel -arrows b- to stop. |
| – | Check whether spreader pin -4- is inserted into bracket -3--arrow-. |
| – | Screw bolts -2- from below into both brackets -3- and into sill cover. Specified torque: 2 Nm. |
