Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Piston compressing tool -T10165-

t  Removal wedge -3409-
Removing
  WARNING
It is only permissible to change the position of the brake piston with the piston compressing tool -T10165-.
–  Screw piston out of brake caliper by turning thumb wheel anti-clockwise.

Insert piston compressing tool -T10165- so that collar rests on piston.
t  If pistons are difficult to move, a 13 mm open-end spanner can be used on intended flats -arrow A-.

–  Remove seal using removal wedge -3409-.
Installing
Install in reverse order. Note the following points:
–  The surfaces of the piston and seal must be cleaned only with methylated spirits and then dried.
–  Apply thin coat of assembly paste -G 052 150 A2- to piston and seal before installing.

–  Place protective cap with outer sealing lip on piston.
  N47-0079
–  Using removal wedge -3409-, insert inner sealing lip into cylinder groove.
When doing this, hold piston in front of brake caliper.
  N47-0081
–  Screw in piston by turning thumb wheel on piston compressing tool -T10165- clockwise. Do not damage protective cap.
–  Use plate -T10165/1- for assistance when screwing in.
t  Insert piston compressing tool -T10165- so that collar rests on plate -T10165/1-.
