Checking oil level or topping up oil in rear final drive - Passat CC, Passat 2011 ► and Golf 2009 ►

Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
  W00-0427
t  Filling device for Haldex coupling 2 -VAS 6291-
Test precondition
l  Vehicle standing on level ground
Check fluid level
Perform the following steps:
–  Place drip tray -VAS 6208- under final drive.
  W00-10251
–  Unscrew bolt -1-.
The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled to the lower edge of the filler hole.
–  Screw in plug -1- and tighten. Torque setting 15 Nm
Topping up oil:
–  Using filling device for Haldex coupling 2 -VAS 6291-, add enough oil so that it runs out between the adapter of the filling device and the final drive housing.
Gear oil for the rear final drive is available as a part → Electronic parts catalogue „ETKA“.
–  Remove filling device and adapter; excess oil may still run out.
The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled to the lower edge of the filler hole.
  N39-10358
–  Screw in plug -1- and tighten. Torque setting 15 Nm
