Checking oil pressure switch
Checking oil pressure switch
Test prerequisites
l  Oil level OK, checking → Chapter
l  Engine oil temperature at least 80 °C (radiator fan must have run once)
  Note
Functional check and repair of the optical and acoustic oil pressure warning: → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
   
–  Remove oil pressure switch -F1- -brown insulation- using 24 mm hinged wrench -T40175- and screw into tester.
–  Screw tester into oil filter bracket in place of oil pressure switch.
–  Connect brown wire of tester to earth (-).
–  Connect voltage tester -V.A.G 1527B- to battery positive (+) and oil pressure switch using auxiliary cables from -V.A.G 1594 A-. LED must not light up.
–  Start engine and increase speed slowly. At 0.55…0.85 bar the LED must light up, otherwise renew oil pressure switch.
