  Note
t  All hose connections of charge air system are secured by spring-type clips, connector couplings or by spring band rings. When installing, observe installation instructions for connector couplings → Chapter.
t  The charge air system must be free of leaks.
t  Checking charge air system for leaks → Chapter.
  Caution
The screw-type clips on the charge air lines must always be tightened to 5.5 Nm. If the torque is too low or too high, the charge air hose may slip off the charge air pipe during vehicle operation.

1 - 5 Nm
2 - Mounting
q   For charge air cooler.
3 - Charge air cooler
q   To remove, bring lock carrier into service position → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50.
4 - Connecting hose
q   »Cold« side, bottom.
5 - Screw-type clip, 5.5 Nm
6 - To throttle valve module -J338-
7 - Connecting hose
q   »Cold« side, top.
8 - Charge air pressure sender -G31- with intake air temperature sender -G42-
9 - 2 Nm
10 - Rubber grommet
q   Renew if damaged.
11 - 8 Nm
12 - Charge air pipe
q   »Cold« side.
13 - Connecting hose
q   »Hot« side, top.
14 - From turbocharger
15 - Charge air pipe
q   »Hot« side.
16 - Connecting hose
q   »Hot« side, bottom.
