Removing and installing charge air cooler (intake manifold) > < Charge air system

  Note
t  This engine is equipped with a radiator combination comprising an engine and low-temperature radiator for the charge air system.
t  The engine and low-temperature radiator is designed as a single component.
t  Coolant hose schematic diagram → Chapter
t  Remove and install spring-type clips with hose clip pliers -VAS 6340-.
   
1 - Radiator with low-temperature radiator for charge air system
q   Removing and installing radiator → Chapter.

t  This engine is equipped with a radiator combination comprising an engine and low-temperature radiator for the charge air system.
t  The engine and low-temperature radiator are designed as a single component.
2 - Intake manifold
q   Remove and install → Chapter
3 - Sealing strip
q   Make sure it is properly seated when installing the charge air cooler.
4 - Gasket
q   Renew.
q   Make sure it is properly seated when installing the charge air cooler.
5 - Intake manifold charge air cooler
q   Remove and install → Chapter
6 - Coolant hose
q   To turbocharger.
7 - 7 Nm
q   When installing, first tighten evenly until finger-tight, then diagonally across from inside to outside until specified torque is reached.
8 - Coolant hose
q   To expansion tank.
9 - Hose clip
q   Secured to valve timing housing (top).
10 - Coolant hose
q   To turbocharger.
11 - Coolant circulation pump -V50-
q   Fitting location: below intake manifold
q   Remove and install → Chapter
12 - 8 Nm
13 - Bracket
14 - Connector
15 - 10 Nm
16 - Coolant hose
q   To oil cooler.
17 - Coolant pipe
q   Secured to sump.
18 - 8 Nm
19 - Coolant hose
20 - Connection
21 - O-ring
q   Renew if damaged.
