1 - 40 Nm
q   Renew
q   Coat studs of exhaust manifold with high-temperature paste.
q   High-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-
2 - Lambda probe -G39-
q   Bank 1, probe 1
q   55 Nm
q   The thread on new Lambda probes is coated with high-temperature paste.
q   When re-using the old Lambda probe, coat only the thread with high-temperature paste; the paste must not get into the slots of the probe body.
q   High-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-
3 - Front exhaust pipe with catalytic converters
  Caution
Avoid damage to the flexible joint.
t  Do not bend decoupling element more than 10°.
t  Install decoupling element so that it is not under tension.
t  Take care not to damage wire mesh on decoupling element.
q   Protect catalytic converter from damage by knocks and impact
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Aligning exhaust system free of stress → Chapter.
4 - Lambda probe after catalytic converter -G130-
q   Bank 1, probe 2
q   55 Nm
q   The thread on new Lambda probes is coated with high-temperature paste.
q   When re-using the old Lambda probe, coat only the thread with high-temperature paste; the paste must not get into the slots of the probe body.
q   High-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-
5 - Rubber mounting
q   Renew if damaged.
6 - Centre silencer
q   Combined in one unit with rear silencer as original equipment. Can be renewed individually for repair purposes.
q   Separate exhaust system → Chapter.
7 - Rear clamp
q   For separate replacement of centre and rear silencers
q   Tighten bolted connections evenly. Specified torque and installation position → Fig.
8 - Rear silencer
q   In initial equipment, component with centre silencer. Can be renewed individually for repair purposes.
q   Separate exhaust system → Chapter.
9 - Mounting
q   Renew if damaged.
10 - Securing bolts
q   25 Nm
11 - Nut
q   Tighten bolted connections evenly. Specified torque and installation position → Fig.
12 - 25 Nm
13 - Front clamp
q   Tighten bolted connections evenly. Specified torque and installation position → Fig.
14 - Nut
q   Tighten bolted connections evenly. Specified torque and installation position → Fig.
15 - Securing bolts
q   25 Nm
16 - Mounting
q   Renew if damaged.
17 - Seal
q   Renew
