Timing Belt: Adjustments
Camshaft and Injection Pump Drive Belt

Exploded View Of Timing Belt Components

1.

Remove upper drive belt cover, then cylinder head valve cover.

2.

Loosen alternator mounting bolts, then A/C drive belt tensioner and remove drive belts.

3.

Remove crankshaft pulley, if necessary, then timing belt and camshaft covers.

4.

Disconnect wiring harness connectors to fuel shut-off solenoid.

Drive Belt Removal

5.

Rotate engine until cylinder No. 1 is at TDC. 

WARNING:  Do not rotate engine opposite normal direction of rotation (counterclockwise) using crankshaft center bolt, as torque setting
may be disturbed allowing sprocket to loosen
