Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection
Idle Drop
1.
Start the vehicle and pull the cold start knob out to the first detent.
2.
Loosen and tighten each of the injector lines in turn and observe for an idle speed drop. Torque injector lines to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
Use caution around loosened fuel lines. Do not perform this test around any flame source.
3.
The idle speed should drop for each injector. No change is an indication that the cylinder is not operating properly. Investigate as necessary.
