Route new ground wire along existing harness to ground stud GND 12.
Golf, Jetta, New Beetle:
^
Fasten new wire using previously removed cap nut.
^
Tightening torque = 9 Nm +/- 1 Nm
^
Secure using tie straps as necessary.
^
Reinstall battery (see Repair Group 27, Battery, Removing and installing, for the appropriate model).
