Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Camshaft Position Sensor

Remove the engine cover. Refer to => [ Engine Cover ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Engine Cover.

Remove the fuel filter and the auxiliary fuel pump (V393). Refer to => [ Auxiliary In-Line Electric Fuel Pump ] See: Fuel Delivery and Air
Induction/Fuel Pump/Service and Repair/Auxiliary In-Line Electric Fuel Pump.

Disconnect the connector from the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor (on radiator) (G83), open the clips - arrows - and remove the upper
toothed belt guard.

Remove right front wheel housing liner.

Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to one of the following:

Remove the vibration damper, refer to - item 29 -=> [ Vibration Damper ] See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Timing Components/Timing
Belt/Service and Repair/Toothed Belt Assembly Overview.

Rotate the engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) and secure the crankshaft toothed belt gear using (T10050). Push the (T10050) from the front side of
the toothed belt sprocket into the teeth. The camshaft toothed segment must be in the 12 o'clock position.
