Passive Occupant Detection System

Seat occupied recognition controls automatic passenger airbag deactivation.

This equipment is only installed on vehicles released in the USA.

CAUTION!

‹› Seat cushion, mat for seat occupied recognition, control module and pressure sensor must only be replaced together. Components are

complementary and must not be separated!

‹› Only disconnect wiring harnesses mentioned in the following description!

Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136 ) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095 ).

Remove front seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Seats.

Attach the seat to the fixture for seat repair ( VAS 6136).

Remove the front seat belt latch:

‹› 2-door => [ Belt Latch, 2-door ] See: Restraint Systems/Seat Belt Systems/Seat Belt/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement

‹› 4-door => [ Belt Latch, 4-door ] See: Restraint Systems/Seat Belt Systems/Seat Belt/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement

Remove right trim on seat:

‹› Seat without pass-through => [ Right Seat Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Seats

‹› Seat with pass-through => [ Right Trim, Seat with Pass-Through ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Front Seats

Remove left trim on seat:

‹› Seat without pass-through => [ Left Seat Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Seats

‹› Seat with pass-through => [ Left Trim, Seat with Pass-Through ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front

Seats

Remove bracket and front seat operating lever. Refer to => [ Front Seat Bracket and Operating Lever ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Seats.

If present, remove mount for seat drawer. Refer to => [ Seat Drawer Mount ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Front Seats.

If present, remove connector - 1 - from Front Passenger's Heated Seat Control Module (J132).

-

If equipped, remove clip - 2 -.

Remove clips - 3 -.
