Removing:

CAUTION!
Removing and installing the individual components in the steering column switch must be done in the specified sequence. Refer to => [
Steering Column Switch Components ].

CAUTION!
‹› The airbag could deploy.

‹› The airbag could deploy if the airbag unit is handled incorrectly. 

‹› Observe safety precautions when working on the airbag.

Disconnect battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] See: Starting and Charging/Tools and Equipment/Battery,
Disconnecting and Connecting.

Remove steering wheel.

-

Remove steering column trim.

-

Remove bolt - 1 -.

-

Slide a suitable wire - 2 - approximately 45 mm deep -  arrow 1 - into the hole on the Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module to
release the retaining tab - arrow 2 -.

Using a suitable screwdriver, press rear catch retaining tab -  arrow A - back toward steering wheel to loosen catch.
