Condition

Door Outer Window Recess Seal, Front or Rear Door, Improper Fit

Outer window recess seal may contact front or rear door B or C pillar (Figure 1).

Technical Background

Insufficient fit of the window recess seal. 

Production Solution

Install felt tape.

Service

Apply a 50 mm (2 in.) piece textile tape part number D422S25A2 in the areas of B pillar/front door and B and C pillar/rear door to ensure a better fit of
the outer window seal.

Procedure

1. Carefully remove the window recess seal, see Repair Group 57 or 58 in ElsaWeb.

Note:

The core of the window seal cover consists of a metal element. If the element is bent, the cover cannot be straightened. Damaged window recess
seals must be replaced.

2. Clean the flange.
