Windshield Washer Pump: Service and Repair
Windshield and Rear Window Washer Pump
‹› Depending on equipment, location of Windshield and Rear Window Washer Pump may differ slightly from illustrations. Removal is identical.
Removing:

Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
Only for vehicles with an auxiliary heater:
-
Remove the right front wheel housing liner.
Only for vehicles with an auxiliary heater:

Remove the right bumper cover or the right fog lamp, depending on the equipment level. Refer to => [ Fog Lamps ] See: Lighting and
Horns/Fog/Driving Lamp/Service and Repair/Fog Lamps.
Only for GTI:

Remove front bumper cover.
Continuation for all vehicles:
‹› In order to prevent interchanging washer fluid line connections at Windshield and Rear Window Washer Pump, connections at pump and hose
lines are color-coded. Hose connector pieces must be connected to the corresponding colored pump connections during installation.

Twist the clips on the hose connections - 3 - and - 5 - and then pull the hose connections off the windshield and rear window washer pump - 4 -.

If necessary, collect the draining fluid in a suitable container.

Remove Windshield and Rear Window Washer Pump - 4 - upward out of reservoir.

Disengage and disconnect harness connector - 2 -.
