Fuel Pressure Check Valve: Testing and Inspection
Fuel Pump Check Valve, Checking
WARNING!
Fire hazard! Do NOT have anything in the area that can ignite gasoline!
Requirements

V.A.G 1348/3A Remote control connected.

V.A.G 1318 Pressure gauge connected.
Test procedure
NOTE: This procedure simultaneously checks all of the fuel supply connections between the fuel delivery unit and the V.A.G 1318 pressure gauge
connection.

Close pressure gauge cut-off tap.

Lever at right angles to direction of flow (arrow).

Operate remote control at short intervals, until a pressure of approx. 3 bar has built up.
WARNING!
Danger of fuel spray when opening the cut-off tap, hold container over the open pressure gauge connection.
If too much pressure builds up:

Lower excess pressure by carefully opening the cut-off tap.

Watch pressure drop on gauge.

After 10 minutes the pressure must not drop below 2.5 bar.
If pressure continues dropping:

Check line connections for leaks.
If OK:
-
Fuel pump faulty, replace fuel delivery unit.
