Transmission Position Switch/Sensor: Service and Repair

COMPONENT NOTES AND INFORMATION 

NOTE:

Multi-function Transmission Range Switch, Transmission Vehicle Speed Sensor and Vehicle Speed Sensor can be tested in the vehicle with On
Board Diagnostic (OBD)

The output gear must be removed to disassemble and assemble the parking lock, refer to Removing and installing drive pinion, refer to
Transmission and Drivetrains

Bolt
-

Tighten to: 4 Nm (35 inch lb)

Manual selector valve control
-

Adjusting, refer to Transmission and Drivetrain

Removing and installing valve body

Selector shaft with selector segment
-

Removing and installing, refer to Fig. 2, below.

Spring pin
-

Driving out and in, refer to Fig. 1, below.

Engaging lever
-

Install together with selector shaft and detent segment

Detent segment
-

Install together with selector shaft and engaging lever

Locking washer

Bolt
-

Tighten to: 10 Nm ( 7 ft lb)

Spring for selector segment

Bolt
-

Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)

O-ring
-

Always replace

-

Only install on shafts with groove for circlip

Washer

Shaft for detent lever
-

Is secured by circlip and bearing cap of drive pinion

Return spring
-

Inserting, refer to Fig. 4, below.
