Gas-filled strut for rear lid, removing and installing

Golf, GTI

1 - Washer

2 - Ball stud

15 Nm (11 ftlb)

3 - Retainer

4 - Gas-filled strut

Removing

-

Support rear lid.

-

Lift retainer -3- using screwdriver and pull gas-filled strut off ball stud.

Note: If gas-filled strut is to be reused, retainer -3- must not be removed from ball socket completely, otherwise retainer will be damaged.
