intended to be a sequential disassembly/assembly procedure.  

(1) Flange shaft

Removing/Installing, for transmissions without springs behind axle flanges.  See: Seals and Gaskets/Service and Repair Differential Side

(2) Oil seal

(5) Differential housing

Bolt to final drive gear

-

On transmissions with springs behind axle flanges, both sides are chamfered to accept tapered ring

(6) Final drive gear

Bolt to final drive gear

On transmissions with springs behind axle flanges, both sides are chamfered to accept tapered ring (26)

Paired with pinion (output shaft); only replace as set

Heat to 100°C (212°F)
