A resistor wire for daytime running lights (which reduces the light intensity and prolongs the life of the headlight bulbs) has been installed in U.S. and
Canadian vehicles as of the following VIN: 

USA 1H6SM060590
CAN 1H6SM062969

SERVICE

The resistor wire, Part No: 1HM 971 284 can be installed on vehicles prior to the above VIN numbers that are equipped with daytime running light
(headlight switch and relay).

To install a resistor wire on these vehicles, use the following procedure:

- Obtain radio code from customer.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.

- Lower fuse/relay panel.
