1. Remove constant velocity joint as described.
2. Remove inner boot clamp, then boot.
3. Position inner end of boot onto axle shaft as follows:
a. Left inner boot Fig. 11 dimension (a) equals .670 inch.
b. Right inner boot Fig. 12.
c. Left outer boot on 27 mm driveshaft Fig. 13 dimension (a) equals 1/2 to 11/2 grooves visible.
d. Left outer boot on 22 mm driveshaft, Fig. 14 end of boot butts against shoulder.
e. Right outer boot, Fig. 15 dimension (a) equals up to 1/2 groove visible.
4. Install constant velocity joint.
5. Install boot to joint, ensure boot is fully relaxed, then position clamps.
6. Crimp boot clamps, using crimping pliers tool No. VAG 1682 and a suitable torque wrench, or equivalents,Fig. 16.
