install gear shift gauge, 3104

^

with transmission in neutral, align shift rod with selector lever and tighten shift rod clamp

^

engage 1st gear

Note

To check or adjust the shift mechanism, overcome the free play in the shift mechanism by pressing the gearshift lever lightly towards the left hand side.

lightly press shift lever to left

^

use feeler gage to measure dimension a
^

dimension a = 1.0 - 1.5 mm

^

if adjustment is required, loosen screw B

^

rotate eccentric A eccentric until dimension a is correct
^

dimension a = 1.0 - 1.5 mm

^

tighten screw B

Note

After installing a gearbox and/or gearshift lever/gearshift rod, the shift mechanism must be adjusted as described above.
