High-mount Brake Light M25, Removing And Installing 

NOTE: 

-

Failure of LEDs in high-mount brake lights:

-

Individual LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) in auxiliary brake lights are combined into groups of up to four LEDs and are supplied with power as a
group.

-

The high-mount brake light is designed in such a way that it still meets legal requirements when one LED group fails.

-

If another LED group fails, these legal requirements are no longer met.

-

When one LED group fails, the intact LEDs are given a higher load, by which failure of other LED groups can be assumed in the near future.

-

If more than four individual LEDs in auxiliary brake light have failed, the auxiliary brake light must be replaced (repair measure).

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Plastic wedge T10039/1

Removing: 

-

Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

-

Using adhesive tape, adhere a strip at upper part of brake light to avoid paint damage.

CAUTION:  When removing high-mount brake light, ensure seal is not damaged. 

-

Place plastic wedge T10039/1 between brake light and spoiler as shown in illustration. Using light blows with flat hand, drive wedge between
brake light and spoiler and remove High level brake light bulb M25 from rear lid.

NOTE:  If High level brake light bulb M25 cannot be removed as described, contact TSC or your importer.
