MIL ON, DTCs P0442, P0455, P0456 or P2404 Stored in ECM Fault Memory, No Leaks Present
MIL ON with one or more of the following Evaporative Emission (EVAP) DTCs stored in fault memory and no EVAP leaks are present after testing:
Technical Background
Under certain conditions, vacuum supply to the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) -V144- may be insufficient causing EVAP system leak faults to set in the
ECM fault memory when there are no leaks present.
Production Solution
Revised vacuum pipe in production, Part No. 06F 133 778 B which increases vacuum supply to LDP.
Service
If any of the DTCs listed above are stored in the ECM fault memory:
^
Follow Guided Fault Finding to determine root cause of DTC(s).
^
Perform all related technical bulletins that apply.
^
Perform emission system leak test as described in the Repair Manual Group 20, Fuel Supply, Evaporative Emission (EVAP) system, checking for
leaks in ElsaWeb.
Only if diagnosis is found to be inconclusive:
^
Replace the LDP vacuum supply pipe with Part No. 06F 133 778 B following procedure below:
