Electronic Throttle Control Module: Procedures

Throttle Valve Control Module J338, Cleaning 

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required 

-

Acetone

NOTE: 

-

Observe safety precautions.

-

Observe rules for cleanliness.

-

The throttle valve connections must not be damaged when cleaning.

Work procedure: 

-

Remove Throttle Valve Control Module.

-

Open throttle valve by hand and hold it in open position with a suitable object -arrow-.

CAUTION:  Acetone is easily inflammable. Observe accident prevention measures and safety information when working with easily
inflammable fluids. Do not used compressed air when cleaning throttle valve. Wear protective goggles and protective clothing to prevent
injuries and contact with skin.

Clean throttle valve connections, especially in area of closed throttle valve, with standard acetone and a brush.

-

Wipe throttle valve connections with a lint-free cloth.

-

Allow acetone to dry completely and reinstall cleaned throttle valve control module.

-

Adapt new engine control module (ECM) to throttle valve control module "Guided functions".
