Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Transmission Input Speed (RPM) Sensor G182 and Clutch Oil Temperature Sensor G509, removing and installing 02E, 6 Speed Direct Shift

Short description

Both sensors are combined into one component and can only be replaced together. They are coated with oil in transmission near multi-plate clutch.
Before removing, Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic J743 must be removed.

Often, the sensor cable is pulled. This damages it. If cable was pulled, sensor must be replaced.

Remove Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic J743.

Do not pull on wire!

Remove bolt and carefully pry out sensor with screwdriver or pliers.

Only install old sensor, if it is certain that:

Sensor functions properly.

Its wire was not pulled during removal.

If this is not the case, you should install a new sensor.

Insert sensor coated with DSG oil.

Tighten bolt to 10 Nm.

Install Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic J743.

One special request:

Do not pinch line when installing Mechatronic!
