Clutch Pedal Assembly: Procedures

Pedal Cluster Assembly Overview (GTI) - 02Q, 6 Speed M/T FWD

1 - Cross Panel

With mount for mounting bracket

2 - Gasket

Always replace

Between mounting bracket and cross panel

Glue on mounting bracket

3 - Mounting bracket

For mounting of clutch pedal

Some equipment versions have a damper

4 - Bolt
5 - Over-center spring
6 - Bushing
7 - Pivot pin
8 - Clutch pedal
9 - Base block

To remove and install master cylinder, separate from clutch pedal.

10 - Gasket

Always replace

Between master cylinder and mounting bracket

11 - Master cylinder
12 - Clutch Position Sensor G476

^

Can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" with the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.

^

In "Guided Fault Finding", the Clutch Position Sensor G476 is designated as the Clutch Pedal Switch F36.

13 - Clip

^

To remove and install the hose/line assembly or plastic line, pull the clip out to the stop

14 - Supply hose
15 - Self-locking nut, 25 Nm
