Technical Background
The symbol for the external rear view mirror heater is no longer located at the top position of the switch housing.
Production Solution
New switch design start of production MY 2009.
Service
Heated mirror symbol - previous location
Prior to 2009 the heated mirror switch symbol was located at the 12 O' clock position on the mirror switch housing. The control knob in the 12 O' clock
position is the ON position for the heated mirrors.
NOTE:
-
If the heated mirror symbol is at the 2 O' clock as shown in Figure 2, DO NOT replace the mirror switch. No further action is necessary.

Figures 1 and 2 are for heated mirror symbol location representation only. DO NOT replace the switch for Knob style variations.
