Meaning of exhaust MIL

The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) lights up when exhaust relevant malfunctions are recognized by the control module for Diesel- Direct fuel
injection system.

Glow Plug Indicator Light

Glow Plug Indicator Light has a dual function:

Blinking: Malfunctions were detected which influence drivability.

Lighting up when ignition is switched on: Normally appears when starting up a cold diesel engine.

NOTE:

-

The exhaust Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is switched on as soon as malfunctions are detected that increases emissions. DTC memory must

DTC memory must still be checked if there are drivability problems or customer complaints and the MIL is not lit, since malfunctions can be
stored without  causing the MIL to light immediately.
