Wiring diagram
Test conditions:
-
The respective fuses of Diesel Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) Engine Control Module (ECM) J248 must be OK.
-
Battery voltage at least 11.5 V.
-
All electrical consumers (e.g. lights and rear window defroster) switched off.
-
Vehicles with automatic transmission: Selector lever in position "P" or "N".
-
Air conditioning system switched off.
-
Ground (GND) connection between engine and body OK.
Function:
Both Throttle Position (TP) Sensor G79 / Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 2 G185 are located at the accelerator pedal and communicate the drivers
intentions to Diesel Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) Engine Control Module (ECM) J248 completely independently of each other. Both sensors are integrated
into one housing.
Work procedure:
NOTE: Use only gold-plated terminals when servicing terminals in harness connector of sensors.
-
Remove steering column cover.
-
Disconnect 6-pin connector from Throttle Position (TP) Sensor G79 / Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 2 G185.
-
Switch ignition on.
Checking voltage supply:
-
Connect multimeter V.A.G 1526 to following connector terminals for voltage measurement.
Terminal 1 Ground (GND)
Terminal 1 Terminal 5
Terminal 2 Ground (GND)
Terminal 2 Terminal 3
