The engine lacks performance and there are noises from the engine compartment.

Technical Background
This condition may be due to a damaged charge air hose. At high engine speed and high boost pressure, the charge air hose expands. As a result the hose
contacts a gearbox stud resulting in hose damage.
Production Solution
Gradual introduction of a cap nut on the gearbox stud.
Service

Remove noise insulation cover, see Body Exterior Group 50 in ElsaWeb

Inspect the lower charge air hose in the area of the gearbox stud for damage "illustration"
If hose is damaged:

Replace as necessary. See Repair manual group 21 Exhaust turbocharger, G-charger in ElsaWeb.

Install a cap nut Part No. N90450201 on the gearbox stud, to prevent repeat damage.

Install noise insulation cover, see Body Exterior Group 50 in ElsaWeb
If the hose is not found to be damaged:

Install a cap nut Part No. N90450201 on the gearbox stud, to prevent damage.

Install noise insulation cover, see Body Exterior Group 50 in ElsaWeb
