Connect test box to Diesel Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) Engine Control Module (ECM) J248 wiring harness. See: Powertrain
Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Test Box, Connecting For
Wiring Test

Connect adapter cable V.A.G 1598/39-2 to test box V.A.G 1598/42.

-

Check wires between test box and 6-pin connector for open circuit according to wiring diagram.

Check wires for short circuit to each other, to vehicle Ground (GND) and to B+.

If no malfunction is detected in wiring and if voltage supply was OK:
