Condition
Damage to the turbocharger (after replacing the oil filter or starting the engine after long term storage) can be caused by raising the engine RPM before
full oil pressure is reached.
Service
After replacing the engine oil filter or if a vehicle has been in long term storage:
ALWAYS allow the engine to idle at least 10 seconds after the oil pressure light extinguishes before raising engine RPM's (this allows full oil pressure to
reach the turbocharger).
Caution!
Failure to allow oil pressure to build prior to raising the engine RPM can lead to premature turbocharger damage or internal engine damage.
