Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

The brake lamp switch is located on the brake pedal bracket at the top of the brake pedal.

REMOVAL

1. Remove left underdash panels as necessary to access switch, then disconnect electrical connector from brake lamp switch.
2. Turn brake lamp switch 90° clockwise, then remove switch.

INSTALLATION

1. Pull switch plunger to its fullest extension.
2. Hold brake pedal down, then install new switch and turn 90° counterclockwise to fasten.
3. Pull brake pedal fully to rear to allow switch to auto adjust.
4. Connect electrical connector, then test brake lamp operation.
5. Reset audio coded anti-theft system
