Mark shaft with tape at dimension -a- before installing boot.

Dimension -a- = 17 mm (0.67 in.) 

NOTE:  Do not scratch paint on shaft to mark dimension -a

Large diameter of vent chamber -A- must be on large tube diameter

Before installing clamp on small diameter end of boot, lift boot slightly to equalize pressure and prevent vacuum inside causing an inward fold
-arrow- when driving.

CAUTION:
-

Clamp can only be tensioned using pliers tool No. V.A.G 1682 or Snap-On YA 3080, or equivalent.

Ensure that jaws of pliers contact the corners of the clamp arrow -B-.

Tension clamp by turning spindle to torque of 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)

NOTE:  Coat the threads of the tool spindle with MoS2 grease to ensure smooth operation.
