Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

To replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator:

NOTE: It may be easier to remove the intake air hose to gain better access to the pressure regulator. To remove the hose, remove the clamps and pull

the hose from the engine. Cover the openings with a clean, lint-free cloth.

Digifant Fuel Delivery Components

1.

Disconnect the vacuum hose and the blue fuel return hose from the regulator, discard the hose clamp.

WARNING: Fuel will be expelled. Use a clean rag to soak up fuel. Do not disconnect any wires that could cause electrical sparks. Do not smoke

or work near heaters or other fire hazards. Keep a fire extinguisher handy.

Remove the two (2) Phillips-head screws that attach the regulator to the fuel rail and pull the regulator from the fuel rail.

3.

Install new sealing O-ring on the fuel pressure regulator.

4.

Lubricate the O-ring with fuel and carfully push regulator into place on the fuel rail.

5.

Install and tighten the two (2) Phillips-head screws.

6.

Connect the blue fuel return hose to the regulator using a new hose clamp.

7.

Connect the vacuum hose to the regulator.

8.

START the engine and check for fuel leaks at the fuel pressure regulator, repair any leaks immediately.
