Fuel Delivery Unit, Removing and Installing

Fuel delivery unit, removing and installing
Engines: AEG, APK, AQY, AVH, AZG BEJ, BER, BEV, BHP

Special tools and equipment 

-

3217 Ring nut spanner

-

V.A.G. 1332 Torque wrench (40 to 200 Nm)

Removing

Requirement
-

Fuel tank must not be more than 1/2 full

Note: 
^

Empty fuel tank with fuel extractor VAS 5190, if necessary

Note safety precautions before beginning work

WARNING:  
^

The fuel system is under pressure! Before opening the system place a cloth around the connection. Then release the pressure by
carefully loosening the connection.

^

Always wear eye protection and wear fuel resistant gloves when disconnecting system connections.

Check whether a coded radio is installed. If so, obtain the anti-theft coding.

-

With ignition switched off, disconnect battery ground (GND) strap.

-

Fold rear seat bench forward.

-

Remove cover from fuel delivery unit.

-

Disconnect 4- pin connector as well as supply and return lines off flange (arrow).

Note:  To do this, press on hose couplings.
