Allocate clutch discs and pressure plates according to engine code.

Ensure the engine to transmission alignment sleeves are installed in the cylinder block, install if necessary.
^
If alignment sleeves are not present, shifting difficulties, clutch problems and possibly noise in transmission (loose gear rattling) will occur.

Make sure centering pins fit securely

Keep the clutch lining contact surface free of grooves, oil and grease

Lightly grease splines
Note: Clean the input shaft splines and on used clutch plates, the hub splines, remove corrosion and apply only a very thin coating of grease G 000
100 onto the input shaft splines. Then move clutch plate back and forth on input shaft until the hub moves freely on the shaft. Excess grease must be
removed.

Pressure plate

Check ends of the diaphragm spring

Check spring connections and rivet connections
Note: Pressure plates are corrosion-protected and greased. Only the contact surfaces may be cleaned, otherwise the service life of the clutch will be
considerably reduced.
