Condition

Extruded body side molding does not adhere after replacement.

May be caused by incorrect procedures used to install molding.

Production

Injection molded (black with fastening clips) body side moldings installed through October 1994 production.

Extruded body side moldings installed beginning November 1994 production.

Service

When installing extruded body side moldings:

Note:

The working temperature when attaching the moldings must be approx. 20°C (68°F).

Clean exterior panels with isopropyl alcohol, treat with silicone remover and then rub dry.

If necessary, warm molding and body surface with hot air blower prior to installation (should be warm to touch).

Pull protective foil from back of molding and attach molding lightly.

Press molding on evenly using a roller at approximately 10 lbs. of rolling pressure (one complete pass for each adhesive strip on molding is
required).

Note:

Wait at least 24 hours before taking vehicle through car wash.
