Removing

-

Remove preselector rotary switch for sunroof.

-

Remove headliner.

-

Pull water drain hoses (arrows) off of carrier unit -1-.

-

Remove bolts -2- and lift carrier unit out of vehicle with help of second technician.

Installing

-

Lift carrier unit into vehicle with help of second technician.

-

Align carrier unit within roof opening, use centering holes with drills (reversed) to gauge gaps. Use 12 mm drill to locate right front edge and 10
mm drill to locate left rear edge.

NOTE:  The carrier unit must not be in contact with the roof frame.

Check electrical wiring and connections on roof and connect if necessary.

Tighten carrier unit -1-, starting at sunroof drive motor -3- on left and right-hand sides and move rearward.
Tightening torque: 8 Nm (71 in. lb)

Connect water drain hoses (arrows).

-

Connect drive motor -3-.
