Malfunction Indicator Lamp: Testing and Inspection
Malfunction Indicator Lamp For Electronic Throttle Control

Switch on ignition:
EPC warning lamp must light up.

If EPC indicator lamp does not light when ignition is switched on:

-

 Check instrument cluster and EPC warning lamp as follows:

If EPC warning lamp does not light when ignition is switched on, continue test as follows:

-

Start engine and let run at idle:
The EPC warning lamp must go out after a few seconds.

If EPC warning lamp does not go out:

-

Check DTC memory, repair any malfunctions and then erase DTC memory, Erasing and checking DTC memory. Refer to "Displaying, Reading
and Erasing Trouble Codes" under "Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection" See: Powertrain Management/Computers and
Control Systems/Testing and Inspection

Read readiness code. If DTC memory was erased or the Engine Control Module (ECM) was disconnected from the continuous B+ supply, the
readiness code must be re-generated. Refer to "Monitors, Trips and/or Drive Cycle/Reading Readiness Code"  under "Computers and Control
Systems/Testing and Inspection" See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection
