Check conditions
-
The battery voltage must be at least 11.5 V.
-
Speedometer must be OK., checking speedometer.
-
The selector lever of the automatic transmission must be in "P" or "N" position.
Test sequence
NOTE: To check the speed signal the vehicle must be driven. To do this a second person is necessary.
WARNING!
Scan tool must be secured to rear seat and operated by a second technician from this position.

Connect VAG1551 scan tool (VAG1552). Start engine and select "Address word" 01 of engine control module. Engine must be running at idling
speed. (Connecting scan tool and selecting engine control module). Refer to "VAG1551 Scan Tool See: Powertrain Management/Computers and
