Jetta GLS Wagon L4-1.8L Turbo (AWP) (2002)
Rollover Valve: Testing and Inspection
Function
Airbag-equipped vehicles have a fuel crash shut-off. This is intended to reduce the risk of vehicle fire following a crash by switching off the Fuel Pump
(FP) via the Fuel Pump (FP) relay.
This function also improves comfort during engine start-up. When the door is opened, the Fuel Pump (FP) is activated for 2 seconds so that pressure
builds in the fuel system.
When opening fuel system:
Observe safety precautions. See: Service Precautions
-
Check Fuel Pump (FP) relay:
See Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting & Component Locations.
