Then subsequently check the DTC memory of the new engine control module and erase the DTC memory if necessary.

Perform idling check and carry out test drive. 

During road test the following operating conditions must be fulfilled:

The coolant temperature must exceed 80 °C.

When the temperature is reached, the operating conditions
Idling
Part throttle
Enrichment
Full throttle
Overrun
must be attained several times.

Again check the control module DTC memory

-

Generate readiness code.

Special tools and equipment

V.A.G 1551 scan tool or 1552 scan tool with cable VAG 1551/3

Conditions

Authorized vehicle key required. 

Work sequence

Connect VAG 1551 scan tool or or 1552 scan tool with cable VAG 1551/3.

Switch on ignition.

-

Operate scan tool or vehicle system tester taking into account the information on the display:

Press key 1 for "Rapid data transfer".

-

Press keys 1 and 7 for address word "instrument cluster" and confirm entry with Q key.
