CD Changer, Removing And Installing

The optional CD changer is located behind the left luggage compartment trim flap. 

CD changer unit is mounted horizontally in Golf and vertically in Jetta.
 
Removal and installation described here is essentially the same for both models. 

NOTE: 
When installing a new CD changer in vehicle not previously equipped with one: 

-

Prior to installation, CD changer position (vertical or horizontal) must be set via the V/H switches. Check and reset if necessary.

Radio must be coded in order to support CD changer functions. After installing new CD unit, input appropriate radio coding using On Board
Diagnostic program: "Code control module", function 07 

Removing

-

Turn release knobs in direction of arrow and open trim flap.

-

Disconnect electrical connection and unclip from retainer -arrow-.
