- Screw in the rubber bumpers on the trunk lid. The rubber bumpers should provide just enough body contact to prevent rattles.

- Check for proper trunk lid fit with the rear fenders and adjust rubber bumpers as needed.

- Recheck remote trunk release trunk operation If problem still exists, continue:

- Adjust the striker pin upwards to reduce the tension on the latch.

- Adjust rubber bumpers as needed.

- Recheck remote trunk release trunk operation

Check latch adjusting rod

If the trunk lid tension was adjusted too tight, check the following:

- Check the actuation rod to make sure that it was not bent

- Check the actuator rod where it passes through the remote actuator pushrod. It should be in square contact when pushing against the actuating rod.
